Things That Can't Be Said
In 2007 we commissioned 5 eclectic artists: Michèle A.L. Barzey, Marcia Calame, Cheri Gillings, Vincent Gould and Shaun Welch to respond to the theme of 'things that can't be said'. We teamed them up with Shabina Aslam - specialist director of spoken word - and sound designer Dan Steele. The result was a high-energy performance poetry show.

The work was co-produced with Apples and Snakes and was warmly received by audiences across four venues: Arena, mac, Glasshouse Studio Theatre and Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Berkshire.
Each performance was introduced by a guest poet: Emma Purshouse, Kim Trusty, Spoz and AF Harrold, each of them too responded to the theme of 'things that can't be said'.

Audience Quotes:
"A rollercoaster of emotional and cerebral delights."
"It was very engaging and accessible. I liked the way each performer had a different personality but also supported each other."
"Bring it on! Apples & Snakes and r:evolve. ...should do more work together if this is the result."
